Case · Banpará

Banpará relies on Master on two fronts.

Public bank of the State of Pará, founded in 1959. Master is responsible for two critical layers of the environment: the orchestration of day-to-day routines, on Control-M, and the monitoring of infrastructure and applications, on Zabbix. Each front has its own history, its own figures and its own public official source.

Block 1 · Automation with BMC Control-M

Critical routines of a public bank automated with Control-M.

Banpará delivers banking services to its customers and users through branches, interactive video conferencing terminals and online banking. To meet this combination of demands, the bank turned to BMC, which worked alongside implementation partner Master Support to automate and schedule routines and processes with Control-M and give the organization more control over its information.

  • 230processing routines automated
  • 4-steppurchasing process automated
  • 13-stepcredit process automated

What changed

  • Improved performance of routines through better visibility and control
  • Workflows developed, scheduled, managed and monitored
  • Fewer human errors by automating multi-step manual processes
  • External and internal systems integrated to detect and correctly route problems at each stage

The success of our project was a combination of great teamwork and the effectiveness of Control-M.

Block 2 · Monitoring with Zabbix

Monitoring rebuilt from scratch, without stopping the operation.

Until 2016, Banpará’s monitoring environment ran on a single physical server: centralized, hard to scale and vulnerable, with a critical dependency. If the server failed, the entire monitoring went down with it. There was also no integration with the tool that orchestrates the bank’s routines, and adding new routines to the dashboard meant opening manual tickets, with delays and human error.

Master Support, as an official Zabbix partner in Brazil, rebuilt the monitoring environment as a virtualized, modular, scalable and resilient structure, in line with market best practices.

  • 2,000+devices monitored
  • ~100 thousandmetrics collected
  • 26 thousand+active alerts in Zabbix
  • ~2,300routines covered automatically
  • 2,300 hoursestimated operational gain

What changed

  • Manual processes eliminated and operational time reduced
  • Broader visibility over critical routines
  • More services monitored, with faster failure detection and decision support
